3rd– 8th November 2026

Hector’s House, J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, 260 Abbey Lane, Sheffield, S7 2QZ

In celebration of our ancient woodlands a group of nine Peak District Artisans will be exhibiting and selling their work in Hector’s House, part of the purpose built J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre which is situated in the ancient woodland of Ecclesall Woods on the edge of Sheffield. A blazing log burner will welcome you and there’s a cafe and a large car park on site.

The range of work will include paintings, prints, ceramics, wire work, blown glass, creative stitch and basketry.

Exhibiting artists are: Jill Ray, Alison Wake,Thomas Petit, Vivienne Sillar, Judith Brown, Anita Lomas, Rachel Evans, Sue Nichol and Kathryn Watson

The nine artists taking part have all used woodland as a theme. For some of our group this has inspired new lines of work. For example, two pairs of artisans have collaborated to develop new work:

Ceramicist Vivienne Sillar and landscape artist Jill Ray have worked on tree inspired ceramic vessels, each person exploring new methods of decoration and mark making.

Painter Sue Nichol and ceramicist Kathryn Watson have also worked together.

Sue using Kathryn’s work as a 3D canvas for her paintings of trees.

This free exhibition will be open from Tuesday 3rd to Sunday 8th November 10am to 4pm daily. Venue; Hector’s House, J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, 260 Abbey Lane, Sheffield S7 2QZ
