Thomas Petit Glass is a range of handblown/formed bowls, stoppered bottles, vases and paperweights in single vibrant colours, as well as more complex multi-layered, multi-coloured designs, depicting abstract land and seascapes. Many pieces are sandblasted to give them a matt finish similar in looks to sea glass.
Thomas grew up in East Sussex and started his glass career in London before moving to New Zealand for three years and then returning to the UK and setting up his base in Derbyshire, where he has been since 1999. He currently rents from another glassblower’s studio in Lower Lumsdale near Matlock. Visitors are welcome to come to watch the glassblowing or look at the gallery space any day of the week, although Thomas makes his work on weekends, esp Sundays. It’s always best to contact Thomas on 07817151826 to arrange a visit to ensure he is there, when visiting.
