Hopton Hall have run the July Month of Art Competition since 2023, where artists are invited to paint en plein air amongst the roses of the stunning Italianate grounds.
Many PDA members regularly participate and we are delighted to have been invited back by Hopton Hall for our second Art in the Rose Gardens.
Twelve PDA members will be exhibiting in new custom built wooden gazebos within the grounds on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July. Ten of these will also be there on Friday 24th
Open10.30am to 4pm, admission is £7.50 per adult (free to art competition participants), 3-16 years £3.75, under 3 free. As well as the art fair and exhibition there are extensive walks to explore, along with a café and ample parking.
Members exhibitiing are: Fine Artists Greta Vilidaite, Lesley Linley, Liz Wellby, Roger Allen, Bob Bernard*, Mark Langley, Tim Rose, Cheryl Wilbraham & Alex Jabore; Textile artist Alison Wake; Sculptor Ian Patrick Palmer; and Ceramicist Kathryn Watson*. * Saturday and Sunday only
The weekend culminates with the awards for best artworks in the Month of Art Competition, as voted for by visitors, and there is a chance to see inside the hall itself for the first time this year, to view and vote on the competition entries. We were delighted when PDA member Lesley Linley was awarded first prize in 2025.
