PDA Members Events and Exhibitions

PDA members are very busy with events and exhibitions this month, you can see a number of different members work both locally and nationally.

The striking work of mixed media artist Rob Wilson can be seen at The Parallax Art Fair on 25th and 26th February; The Parallax Art Fair is one of the most largest and most popular independent Art Fairs held in London with over 200 exhibitors participating, this event takes place at the Chelsea Town Hall on Kings Rod and the event is open between 11.00am – 5.00pm on both days.

Botanical artist and brand new PDA member Vivienne Rew will also be showing work in London, she has six watercolour paintings entitled Metamorphosis – Lifecycle of Papaver Orientale on display at The RHS Botanical Art Show which is held at the Lindley Hall, London; the preview takes place on 23rd February between 6.00pm – 9.00pm and is then open 25th – 26th February between 10.00am- 5.00pm.

Ceramic artist Vivienne Sillar has work on display at The RBSA Gallery in Birmingham, this exhibition runs until 30th May.

Award winning contemporary folk artist, Sue Prince has a joint exhibition with wood turner, Chris Farrow; ‘Into The Woods’ can be seen at The Foxlowe Art Centre in Leek, open Wednesdays – Saturdays between 10.00am – 4.00pm and running until 1st April. There are two ‘meet the artist’ days; meet Sue on 4th March while Chris will be at The Foxlowe on 25th March.

Over in Macclesfield three members are taking part in ‘This Woman’s Work’, which is taking place at The Macc Art Lounge, situated in The Grosvenor Centre, Macclesfield. The exhibition is a group show, Ingrid Katarina Karlsson (Mixed Media), Sandra Orme (Pastel and Charcoal), Natasha Braithwaite (Photography) are all exhibiting work alongside ceramic artist Che Finch. The Macc Art Lounge is open Thursday – Saturday, plus Treacle Market Sunday (26th February) between 11.00am- 4.00pm, the exhibition runs until 4th March.

In Buxton two PDA members are taking part in ‘Rendezvous’ at The Green Man Gallery; five former members of the gallery were invited back to put on a joint exhibition of their recent work. Mixed media artist, Janet Mayled and photographer, Natasha Braithwaite are exhibiting their work with Kate Yorke, Susannah Thompson and Wendy Butler. The Green Man Gallery on Hardwick Square is open every day except Thursday between 10.30am – 4.30pm; the last day of the exhibition is 1st March.

Following a break in January The Gallery in The Gardens, situated in The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton is open again, you can see work by over 40 of the High Peak Artists, including PDA members, Catriona Hall, Ingrid Katarina Karlsson, Kate Pheasey, Ruth Robinson, Emma Sidwell and Pauline Townsend.

Sue Lewis-Blake’s work can be seen in Chesterfield as part of ‘Drawing Connections’ at The Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery this exhibition runs until 31st March 2017 and is open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10.00am – 4.00pm.

Finally there is still plenty of time to see the PDA Winter exhibition taking place in The Burlington Room in The Stables at Chatsworth. You can see work by 33 members of the group, the work encompasses a wide range of mediums and styles, the exhibition is open every day between 10.30am – 3.30pm our winter exhibition runs until 17th March 2017.
