‘Liquid Light’ Solo Exhibition by Michéla Griffith celebrates the River Dove
Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, 12th September – 14th November 2015

Buxton Museum and Art Gallery will feature images by fine art photographer and Peak District Artisans’ member Michéla Griffith in an exhibition titled “Liquid Light” between 12 September and 14 November 2015. The exhibition opens with a preview on Saturday 12 September between 2-4pm. There will also be two further opportunities to “Meet the Artist” on Saturday 10 October and Saturday 31 October between 2-4pm.

Michéla’s photographs reveal the beauty and diversity to be found in even the smallest stretch of water. Her images of the River Dove and its tributaries on the Derbyshire-Staffordshire border are often mistaken for paintings. They reflect underlying geology, the character of the day, the legacy of rain and the energy of the water. These dynamic studies now inform Michéla’s image making on land.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to show so many of my images in Buxton, close to their origin and to my home”, says Michéla. “Water is intrinsically linked to the history and development of Buxton and its importance to the spa town continues today. I hope that my images will remind viewers that water is something of beauty, to be celebrated and valued.”

An invite to the Preview and full details can be accessed via the following link https://eepurl.com/bw9rhr and on Michéla’s website.

A selection of Michéla’s work will also be on display at the Peak District Artisans’ Tatton Park Fine Art & Design Fair on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2015.
