Alison Counsell at Millennium Gallery

Alison Counsell has work in ‘Designed to Shine’ 100 years of stainless steel exhibition at Sheffield Millennium Galleries

In 1913, ‘rustless’ steel was discovered in the UK by Sheffield’s Harry Brearley. This exhibition celebrates 100 years of the production of stainless steel.
The exhibition includes work by Ron Arad, Anish Kappoor and David Mellor.

PDA member Alison Counsell has 4 pieces in the exhibition : ‘Stapled’ – stainless steel vessel, ‘Travelling Priest 2′ – portable Holy Communion Set and a large 4 part wall hanging Wapenmap.
Alison has also collaborated with sculptor Vivien Whitaker : ‘Beyond Venus’

The Millennium Gallery Shop is stocking a range of Wapentac products – Peak District Wapenmaps & Map’n’lites, Botanical Illustrations and ISAs (Individual Savings Aperture : money box lids)
‘Designed to Sine – 100 years of stainless steel’ opens at the Millennium Gallery on 16th February and runs until October 2013.
